Hi,

I have a phone interview with Jane Street Capital coming up; does anyone know anything about them?

They are big phunctional phanatics over there. So if you're interviewing for anything programming related it would help if you know OCaml or Haskell.

afaik, they're mainly involved in market making index and single stock options. they apparently have a very small stab art operation, too. they like people who have never traded before...so if you have traded, don't play that up at the interview.

Coincidentally or not, I got an offer just a couple of hours ago.

Everyone I talked to was really impressive.

Thing is, I also have an offer from a different firm, which I would rather not discuss publicly. I know it's a lot to ask for a phorum newbie, but can I shoot any of the more senior people here an email? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I would be particularly keen to talk to James, Fdaxhunter, Energetic, Bachelier and Nonius.

I know this is an older thread, but regardless, I could use some advice.

I had a phone interview for an Assistant Trader internship position and I got all the questions correct (although the last question was fairly tricky and I had to talk through a bit with my interviewer but I eventually got the answer). How many rounds of interviews should I expect? How much harder do the questions get? I thought the mental math was fine, but the harder statistical/optimization questions make me nervous.

I guess I am just asking what the best way to prepare is. I'm extremely excited about this opportunity and don't want to blow it.
