Rumours of lay-offs

Post by rowdyroddypiper »

It's more out of necessity than anything else.  I can function on limited sleep and have a high tolerance for boredom so that's the edge that I have to utilize.  I wouldn't coronate me yet, there are going to be a lot of dudes getting religion on this.  I however think it will be the kind of religion that swept corporate governance after Enron/Worldcom.  Good for show but entirely fleeting....of course now we are way off topic.

Rumours of lay-offs

Post by mj »

When I was a fellow of Darwin College Cambridge, I was on the meals committee. I suggested to the catering manager that the vegetarian meals could use more seasoning.

He told me that he had a huge cupboard full of it which i was welcome to inspect

I suggested that the problem was not in the purchasing but the using.

The bursar suggested showing the chef the cupboard.

The vegetarian food was very salty for the next few weeks.

This reminds of the role of risk management in banking.
