I think there's a gap in the market for risk management software aimed at small funds.  Murex/Sophis/Calypso are too pricey, and are unattractive, anyway, because you have to pay for a lot of functionality you don't want need (which suggests a modular approach, I guess).

I imagine they want some concise apps that are suited to their style, so

are they into pre-developed, or made to measure stuff?



If pre-developed, it may just be a case of boiling down standard vendor functionlaity, but new ideas or takes would be interesting.

Anyone willing to contribute to doing some broad functional specs or use cases, well that would be just swell, and I'm open to negotiate.

In my opinion, pre-developed is a better route to start with than custom stuff



Although everyone would like stuff taylored to their specific needs, not everyone, particularly small funds, would be willing to pay for the extra costs involved in the development and support of custom stuff. Plus, doing lots of custom stuff increases the hassle for you as it will increase the complexity of the project and the amount of man power you will need in development, maintenance and support.



Naturally if you're aiming for the big funds/banks/etc. it will be a different story...
