Career advive to become a quantitative analyst

Hi, i have just finished an undergade degree with a major in applied math.



I have been told that honours is "like" a masters but it is more intense and completed in a year. However I am eligible to do an honours project in Abstract algebra, linear algebra, Differential geometry etc.I am thinking how will this help me get a job as a quantitative analyst?



Instead i am thinking about not bothering with honours and instead going straight into a masters by coursework in econometrics.



If there are any people who work as quantitative analysts i would like to hear their opinion on what would be more beneficial for a job in this industry.



Will a masters help me more, or an Honours in math?



Or for a good job prospect will I need to do honours and then undertake a masters by research?



Basically I am busting to work in this industry, and ideally i want a job within 24 months.
