Need some help tinkering with spreadsheets - Any takers?

Basically, have an ever expanding excel spreadsheet that I wish to enhance by adding a few bits of jazzy functionality:



EG: Change the colour of a row or colum when something falls below a certain value - (I want my spreadheet to highlight all the people I have not spoken to for 4 months, It needs to do this automatically).



Is there any way I can get a text search box to sit within the spreadheet, or at least a button that links to this so that I have the same function as you would have in the "find function"



There are one or two other things as well but only minor (I think) - can anyone help me out with these and other ideas I have? I'm happy to throw in a case of wine or similar.
