I don't exactly buy the hype, but I am still interested.
I guess you all heard of the Google "breakthrough"... Now IBM is challenging Googles claims
Opinions?

Heard IBM has 3 quantum computers working and they are very happy with the results. There's a lot of hype at the moment (openai/deepmind etc) so I think it's part of that.
But generally I think we're getting breakthroughs. Though the usability of those "computers" is not really trivial.

Et meme si ce n'est pas vrai, il faut croire en l'histoire ancienne

Quantum Computing
Now it is about getting it right within "algorithmic space". All those rotations I treat as Rubic's cube, and once somebody dedicates his brain into resolving algorithmic problem it will be solved.
Additional complexity is that 8 qubits is not the same as 53 qubits, hence it is difficult to scale not only Hardware side but also within algorithmic space.
Quantum computing scientists are writing down "Quantum Assembler" or Recipes for basic algos which will enable conversion of our commands into quantum algorithms.
PS. With physics in background, I pay attention to such possibilities
