Any thoughts to contribute to a master's in Financial Engineering? Curious as to how the trading community views the significance of the degree.
A few questions to consider:
- How well-placed are students who complete the program?
- Any stigmas carried with the title of the degree?
- How prepared are graduates of the program? Further, some programs offer concentrations in algorithmic trading strategies - most curriculum lies in a hypothetical scenario making in order to carry the course materials/theory supporting the classes. How effective can these learning methods be, especially taking into consideration the degree of variance each individual/firm carries in developing/implementing such algo. trading models?
Would like to hear some thoughts, especially outside of the few questions raised above.
