Weinstein (don't understand him), Wolfram (I like the approach), Lisi....
Any opinions that this will lead to anything?
I tend to agree with this lady
or here less polemic

The method Feynman used is "to figure out how things work".
"Causal triangulation" and information within GR are the underlying principles not yet fully explored IMO.
These guys are checking what can probably work.

@ Magette
It's a pity that I am already following Sabine Hossenfelder.
Not songs though.

I follow Sabine too. Especially after she mentioned my article at 5:45

That's a funny one.
A week ago Putin wanted neutrino weaponised. Not me.
PS. By the way, to make advantage of neutrino speed Espen needs source about ~1e10 times more intense than we have it today.
He is punk.

The problem with these people is they spend all their time on youtube, trying to get patreon accounts, and not solving anything. Not that I know what I am talking about, but seems that someone has to go back in time to where we took the wrong turn. Maybe is was SM, majoranna neutrinos, renormalization, ... but it seems that fundamental physics is screwed and has gone the way of philosophy and identity politics.

All those SM, neutrinos (all sorts of), renormalization etc popped up well before modern craziness around youtube and patreon (I didnt know this animal and still dont get why humans need it).
Ah, yes, SM emerged in time of hippies or LSD. Let's blame those. I expect that mounting divergences will be solved when ambitious youngster will come.

I meant that there were some really unsatisfying things that people swept under the rug so that they could move on and be first in line. The very accurate but quirky methods broke down in applications to gravity by the early 60's (e.g., QFT for a spin-2 field coupled to matter) and then strings came around in the 70's and it all got messy.
I always remember an old research professor that would ask me what I was working on and then always follow up by asking how I would build an experiment to verify it. He was from a dying breed of great men with extraordinary physical intuition. Working on strings = working at hedge fund in the 90's... it was all very fashionable and required to get laid and have funding.
The corpus seems too large and, like many things, too specialized and fractured, with market cap weighting of physics' own version of FAANGs. Whether they admit it or not, just like your first job serves as an initial condition that determines much of your future path, an institution or advisor determines a future path. There's only a handful of institutions that are doing what would be considered TOE work (the academic FAANGs). Comparisons to fusion aren't off base. The other great schools that aren't in that rarefied space are forced to compete with their business schools and other sources of revenue for the corporation. It seems that those that occupy the rarefied spaces have largely convinced themselves that they can advance fundamental physics without experiment. Seems lost to me but, again, I am not close to any of it anymore.
