Thank you for your advice. Specifically I'm not looking at HFT, or trading on the Japanese market. My goal is to get into algo trading because it is something I'm interested in. I can start of as a developer as I'm proficient in C/C++, but eventually I want to move towards work where I could come up with trading strategies as my passion is in optimization and machine learning. Moving to Japan, is solely personally, eg. harder to convince my family to move to HK than Japan.
