I really appreciate it.
It is not sure we have investors from only 1 camp (US), I predict we may have also something from offshore from 1-2 investors, hence my question, as it could make a positive difference if we can launch with also some more funds from there.

If you want something inbetween in terms of cost and flexibility for taking both onshore and offshore, you can look into what's called a mini-master structure.

There's a few variants, I've never seen the one you've proposed so I cannot comment on its validity. However, the one I was implying was to do a standard master-feeder with an offshore master minus the offshore feeder. You can then 'add on' the offshore feeder later when you are actually certain that you have offshore investors and they bring enough AUM to the table that it's worthwhile spending on the legal paperwork and admin costs.
