Who works for a big US bank???

I find it so funny that the day after FASB announces that the rule that companies subtract employee stock options from their profits be postponed until June, that big banks announce that for bonus' over $50,000, a portion be supplanted by options.  Gee, what a coincidence.

Who works for a big US bank???

thing that sucks is that 50k is such a low cash hurdle... anyhow, if they want to make you a long-term employee, they should realize that the employee factors in a big discount factor on the stuff - from a cost of capital perspective, you'd think there would be better ways to do this - i.e. not too far out of the money and not too slowly-vesting, thank you



while I'm not in this market (i.e. big banks), and I don't know if you've heard anything different, but my early read is that this is not a particularly good bonus year

yes, that's how it is.... 



Worse, you get paid in US$ which is useless if you happen to be placed across the pond....

nope, the work year was dry and unlubricated, and the bonus pool, modulo ceo's, sucks.  I'm selling their printers on ebay.
