Dukascopy???
They created their own platform called SW FX.. has nothing to do with SWX. I think it was created by people from CERN initially (http://www.genevaresearch.org/07Life_and_Faces/main/).

Dukascopy???
I know people who claim Dukascopy is a bucket shop....but given that people who loose in FX always blame the broker and by construction every broker in FX markets is a market maker........I will have to do further research
thanx

Dukascopy???
Magette I am not a specialist in that area ( in none actually ..) but what I sort of know..
1. The Swiss Exchange is called SWX// SIX SIX- Swiss Exchange This is a regulated body.
2. Dukaskopy is an "Effektenhändler" in terms of regulated body, this is why it has obtained a "Banken & EffektenHändler" Licence and is thus now regulated. They provide a "trading access for FX for I guess retail market" their platform is called SW FX - it serves retail fx needs, there are many such other services like Saxo bank ( which is also I guess an Effektenhändler) Saxo.
I have a Russian friend who is developping another platform similar in spirit to what these two offer... Dukaskopy founding person is a former Russian CERN scientist.
I think there are lots of these retail trading platforms see here..
But what is the whole microstructure or organisation of FX markets.. I have no idea... and how do these small "auction platform models" interact within that market.. I dunno.. but I gives me the incentive to find out.
Grüsse Poly

Dukascopy???
Thanks Poly
I recently talked to a guy who is very well connected to them. There seems to be a switch in strategy/goal and some internal trouble. Some of the former company members are leaving.
The whole thing seems to be headed to become something like the retail Saxo stuff Poly mentionend.
To answer quanties question: I guess that depends of what you want to do. Everybody I talked to who is using them for their FX gaming (I hesitate to use the word trading here) is quite satisfied and happy.
