fundamental data scratch

not sure if this goes here so please feel free to move it, but it is more software than basics.

i am looking for a source through which I may pull fundamental data. i have found great sources for daily data, and have been able to source a very large set of tickers to capture both share and option prices. also, a source has been established for commodity data and a nice size of macro data.

the holy grail that i cannot seem to attain is fundamental data.

i am looking for a site that has an API (not necessarily a REAL api but at least a site that is indexed in a sensible way that can be coded ie: site.com/TICKER/2010Q1/BS.html.. okay i know this is too easy to exist, but it makes my point a bit more clear).

any help with this would be largely appreciated.

i am able to do such nice things with the data i have but fundamentals are a point that i think are largely valuable and i am currently at a loss for a source that does not have a guarded way through which they present their data.

If you have an IB account you can download Thomson Reuters data for 5$ month if it's a personal account, 40$ if it's a professional account. You can get data on thousands of stocks (US and Europe and other countries), for 5 years. Gathering the data through the API is a bit tedious though. I must say even Thomson Reuters Datastream doesn't have a good API, so if one spends large amounts of money the quality and service is by no means perfect.

Yahoo uses CapitalIQ as it's primary source, so the quality is not bad. I don't know about MSN or Zack.

hi macrotrader, does the IB Reuters Worldwide Fundamentals feed have 5 years of history? I recall seeing somewhere that it has only the last 4 quarters. If you've used the feed, how did you like it?
