I am interested in making strategies for new trades on the buy side after my MFE degree. What will be the long term options for me?



What will be the job titles as i move through the ranks? I think i should expect to begin as Quant Analyst? Am i right?

As a starter I suggest using the search and have a look at the umpteen threads on the topic already



Also try giving Mark Joshi's guide a look over and also the one from Dominic Connor. Then once you have more specific followup questions post again.

Quite possibly.

I have gone through Joshi guide but it does not shed light on the long term career options of someone who might join in Modeing Quant. It does describe the field but not how people will advance through ranks. I was looking at long term designation names and responsibilities?

There is no magic answer to that.

Your career path will hopefully unfold with some correlation to what you are actually good at.  There are social determinants beyond quant skills and training to consider.  Can you contribute to a meeting without embarrassing your team (especially the boss)?  Is your work on target in terms of quality and timing, when neither is well-defined?  Can you talk to clients without needing adult supervision and without getting sidetracked into too much detail about things?  Where you end depends on where you start.
