I started reading some of Bolano's other work and am very happy I did. The 2666 book I think people have to be able to enjoy something that has no actual end, but it is more satisfying than Melville's Confidence Man (which is pointless), Pynchon's Against the Day (which is pointless but I thought should be satisfying), or Daumal's Mount Analogue (which is unfinished). His short stories are great. Definitely influenced by Borges (I pulled Labyrinths off the shelf).
