Hi dudes and dudettes,
Can anyone give me a rough estimate of base salary/cash bonus for a quant strategies researcher on the buyside with about 2 years work-experience in London? I'm thinking BlackRock/MAN/macro systematic type funds
Associate @ Blackrock : Salary: £39k - 56k, Bonus: £4.5k - 30k
Algo-Trading Dev @ MAN : Salary: £48k - 78k, Bonus: £4.7k - 18k
Figures above from Glassdoor. Reliable?

Enormously variable but for a purely research position at a large buy side systematic fund based in the UK where you're one cog in a big engine I'd say that for the level you describe a salary ranging between £45-70k is the norm with total comp (salary + bonus) falling in the £50-£110k region (£45k being in the event of salary at the lower bound and zero bonus). Of course I have seen a few examples of said people beyond the upper bound but I'd be confident that 80% fall within this range.

Thanks DW,
I've heard comments about how the ranges I've mentioned look about right....after tax! Which suggests that the numbers could be a little higher, especially for the MAN numbers.
Yes, we are talking about UK based funds.

Those numbers look low.
At least Citadel pays much more than that.

Expect 50k-60k gbp with 50%-100% bonus, which could be easily 0.
For an entry level I would not pay more than that.
The difference is the bonus which is never 200% in the buyside unless you help make really a lot of money, so it also depends on what you are doing specifically and how badly they want to keep you.
