If you know a better way to transfer money without using wheelbarrows, I'd like to hear it.

There's only two bidders left: Lone Star and the consortium between Christopher Flowers & George Soros.

Texas Pacific Group is out. EuroHypo is out (they just wanted to look at the books anyway).

TPG wanted a negative price for the equity, so does Lone Star.

Commerzbank is looking to buy EuroHypo.

BBG:      Commerzbank, which already owns 31.8 percent of Eschborn,

Germany-based Eurohypo, plans to buy Deutsche Bank AG's 37.7

percent holding and the 28.5 percent owned by Allianz AG's Dresdner

Bank, it said in a statement today. Commerzbank won't pay more than

20 euros a share for Eurohypo, according to people with direct

knowledge of the negotiations who declined to be identified.

So, they are being given 2.5 billion EUR by the German banking system. Now Lone Star is going to be a likely buyer at a negative price.
