Tier-1 uk visa - English proficiency test

English language hard it is... Make test for visa I will.



 



Uhh, does anyone know from experience what is the minimal time consuming / of the least hassle exam option to fulfill the English language requirement in the tier-1 visa ? ( there are quite a few options according to uk immigration, e.g.: IELTS, TOEFL, etc...).



My english is ok-ish but not great so I may need to put some time/work into this but definitely not more than the bare minimum required for the tier-1 visa (I will not need this for any other purpose, e.g. academic now or in the future ).

I took the TOEFL a few years back for academic purposes and I would recommend it. It was so easy since I did well although at the time I could only read well but my writing was bad, my listening skills were so-so and I could almost not speak it at all. I spent 2 weeks full-time preparing it and I scored 260-something eventhough I was lacking sleep the day of the test because I had to travel 3.5 hours very early in the morning to get to the test location.
