How legit is this fund?

The performance of his funds seem way too good to be true for a non-closed fund (SR > 4). Does anyone have any experience investing with him, or know any details of his legitimacy?

If you subscribe to his blog, they get to you with an IMHO relative aggressive sales pitch (contacting you via mail and asking in which country you live in and if investing might be a possibility).

Writing that stuff to some (in my case) generic @gmail.com mail that just subscribed to your blog is kind of strange.

Some stories on that page about his usage of GAs don't sound to convincing to me.

But keep in my mind: all my comments basically aren't really fact based. Would also be interested in more informations on that topic.

It shouldn't be too hard finding some background info on JK by googling, or even by searching this forum.

I am not in a position to give an opinion on his fund, but he has been in the industry for a long time, which should lend him some credibility.

Some of his previous ventures have been well publicized (for better or worse), so he is not just some anonymous armchair expert. Also, I tend to enjoy his technical writings, even if I don't necessarily agree with everything he says.

That said, never take a 4-sharpe track record at face value without proper due diligence.
